Screaming Chicken

"The trailer trash zombie who tears off her pasties to reveal nipples caked in painful red gore and then tap dances while tearing off strips of her own scabs and using them in a repulsive Dance of the Septic Veils was hilarious, gag-inducing, and, uh, so hot. "

Ed Wood's Orgy of the Dead - LIVE

ED WOOD’S ORGY OF THE DEAD – LIVE! Tells the story of an innocent couple who stumble upon a remote graveyard and witness a horrific spectacle – a festival of the walking dead. Shirley (Lil Luvroc) and Bob (Dentor) soon discover that these damned souls not only walk, but dance for the enjoyment of the Emperor of the Dead (Bernie Bombay). The Emperor passes judgment on all who dance and woe to the poor soul who displeases him. Before they are able to flee, Shirley and Bob are captured by the Mummy (Evil Bastard) and Wolfman (Blacke LeBlanc) and forced to face their own judgment before the Emperor.

Filled with hilarious campy humour, undead burlesque dancers, squirting gore and more cape flourishes than you can shake a severed limb at, OotD promises to be one of the most unique and entertaining shows of the year.

This year’s production will once again be produced by Norm Elmore, directed by Rebecca Franklin and feature returning cast favorites Bernie Bombay (Emperor of the Dark World), Evil Bastard (The Mummy), Dentor (Bob), Lil’ Luroc (Shirley) and dancers Melody Mangler, Candy Curves, Mya Mayhem, Connie Lingus, Darla Devine, Jazmina Bizarre and Little Woo. New this year are Tijana Popovic as the Princess of the Damned, Blackie LeBlanc as the Wolfman, dancers Violet Femme and Whisky Rose and a guest appearance of Tart n’ Tiny.

In addition to the large cast, the show also involves a robust crew of make-up artists, costume and set designers as well as lighting and sound techs, ensuring the production values of traditional theater in an untraditional venue.

Sex, Violence and Nursery Rhymes

Mother Goose (Camero Luvroc) and Sister Grimm (Melody Mangler) take the audience on a wild ride in this burlesque of everyone’s favorite childhood nursery rhymes. Dark and dirty, this original comedic adventure will stir laughter in bellies and other feelings in parts lower down.

Taking influences from classic burlesque, this 80 minute production features the familiar elements of comedy and striptease combined with Screaming Chicken’s unique dark humour and just a little bit of gore. The cast consists of some of Vancouver’s top burlesque performers as well as some of the city’s newest talent.

SV&NR is the latest in a series of darkly comedic theatrical productions from Screaming Chicken that include the successful runs of Ed Wood’s Orgy of the Dead – LIVE! (Wise Hall, Oct. 2005) and The Taboo Revue’s Tribute to B-Movies (Burr Theatre, Jan. 2006). Combining classic and contemporary burlesque with more traditional forms of theater, Screaming Chicken’s unique style creates an experience that is thoroughly entertaining and arousing.
