Sex, Violence and Nursery Rhymes

Mother Goose (Camero Luvroc) and Sister Grimm (Melody Mangler) take the audience on a wild ride in this burlesque of everyone’s favorite childhood nursery rhymes. Dark and dirty, this original comedic adventure will stir laughter in bellies and other feelings in parts lower down.

Taking influences from classic burlesque, this 80 minute production features the familiar elements of comedy and striptease combined with Screaming Chicken’s unique dark humour and just a little bit of gore. The cast consists of some of Vancouver’s top burlesque performers as well as some of the city’s newest talent.

SV&NR is the latest in a series of darkly comedic theatrical productions from Screaming Chicken that include the successful runs of Ed Wood’s Orgy of the Dead – LIVE! (Wise Hall, Oct. 2005) and The Taboo Revue’s Tribute to B-Movies (Burr Theatre, Jan. 2006). Combining classic and contemporary burlesque with more traditional forms of theater, Screaming Chicken’s unique style creates an experience that is thoroughly entertaining and arousing.

History of Burlesque

History of Burlesque is the story of forgotten performers, forgotten theaters, and a forgotten style. The show features acts inspired by Lydia Thompson, Little Egypt, The Moulin Rouge, The German Kaberet, Patti Wagon, Minski's Theater and more. The night pays tribute to the great icons of another era. True to the genre, the show features acts both comical and beautiful, classical and obscure.

This show is currently touring with the Taboo Revue with a cast including Melody Mangler, Evil Bastard, Candy Curves, Bernie Bombay, Betty Battleax, Darla Devine, Connie Lingus, Mia Mayhem, Jazmina Bizarre, Rosa Hosenbanger and Lou Garou.

How to Seduce a Lover

Our first feature theatrical Burlesque performance, How to Seduce a Lover, is a lesson in the finer points of this elusive art. Through a series of song and dance numbers such as "Hymens Are a Girls Best Friend" and "My Face or Your's", our cast will illustrate a number of sure fire techniques to capture the object of your desire.

This show is currently on hiatus while we tour History of Burlesque, but don't be surprised to see it come back in time for Valentine's again. The original cast included Melody Mangler, Bernie Bombay, Candy Curves, Evil Bastard, The Luvroc Sisters, Brandy Blue, Betty Battleax, Horrella DeKill and Lou Garou.

Gameshow Night

Mayhem, glitz and non-stop debauchery; Gameshow Night is the wildest theatrical production you'll ever be part of. Starring Melody Mangler, Evil Bastard, Lou Garou, Candy Curves and members of the audience, Gameshow Night is a cross between a parody of TV's favorite game shows and improvisational theater. Audience members compete for fabulous prizes like tattoos, piercings, clothing or CDs by playing games such as Win, Lose or Dare, Cross Dress for Success, Cockring Toss and Name That Shit. Expect a lot of messy naked people having the time of their lives. Of course, no game show is complete without buzzers and canned laughter, so Gameshow Night also incorporates a huge array of props, special effects and sound effects to fully capture the experience. Sequins, celebrities, cream pies and a puke bucket, Gameshow Night has it all.
