The New Taboo Revue - Fri. Nov. 21st

Vancouver's biggest and longest running Burlesque Variety show is back with a New Venue, a New Format, New Performers and lots of New Acts!
We've moved the Revue to the Wise Hall (at Victoria and Adanac, just off the drive) which lets us perform in a bigger room and on a bigger stage. So guess what that means, more performers! So many more that we've had to change the whole format of the show to make room. You won't be seeing as much of the Gameshow games as before but you will be seeing a lot more high quality Burlesque performances including the big group numbers the Revue is renowned for.
What won't be changing is the quality and originality that has made the Taboo Revue a Vancouver Burlesque institution. As always you will see a wide range of singing, dancing, comedy and striptease. You will see some of Vancouver's top Burlesque performers alongside some of the city's newest up-and-comers and you will see why Vancouver has one of the strongest Burlesque communities in the world!
This action packed Revue will star Melody Mangler, Lola Lockeheart, April O'Peel, Joanie Gyoza, Bonbon Bombay, Cuntry Kisses, Corvetta Curves, Vava Vunderbust, Voodoo Pixie, Coco Cinders, Sparkle Plenty, Vicki VonPommes, Rosie Delight and Barishnikox. Hosted by Evil Bastard and Violet Femme. That's right, sixteen performers all shakin' their stuff for you!
All proceeds from the Taboo Revue go to Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society, a not-for-profit organization that tries to make Vancouver a more entertaining place to live.

A Passion for Justice - Thurs. Nov. 6th

Screaming Chicken is very proud to once again be taking part in this great event in support of Pivot Legal Society. If you are not familiar with Pivot, they're a fantastic social justice organization that helps a whole lot of people (the link to their website is below).
Passion for Justice will feature performances by Screaming Chicken's Melody Mangler, April O'Peel, Vava Vunderbust, Precious Metal, Voodoo Pixie, Coco Cinders and Evil Bastard as well as The Carnival Band. Screaming Chicken will be doing some classic numbers as well as original short play that we've written just for this event so you don't want to miss it!
The night also features some great food, a silent auction, a live auction and a whole bunch of other surprises!

We want to thank all the wonderful people who came out and supported Screaming Chicken in our time of need. Thanks to you we have recovered the money lost in the robberery and were able to restore the tour fund. Now, on with the Show!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive in this time of crisis with Screaming Chicken. We have received dozens and dozens of messages of support and some generous donations and we are on our way to recovery.
You’ll have to excuse me if I haven’t thanked everyone individually as we are running around getting ready to leave tomorrow…
Thanks to our wonderful members and supporters we have a bunch of fund raising events coming up that are all going to be a great time with proceeds going to a great cause…

Screaming Chicken Robbed

Becky and I arrived home tonight to find our house broken into.
The thieves had great timing and managed to make off with all the cash from the Screaming Chicken's Thursday's show (which was going to pay next month's rent on the Screaming Chicken Studio). They also got all of our tour fund and membership fund.
So this means that Screaming Chicken is currently unable to make our rent on the studio (not to mention our own rent) and we have no money to start the tour.
I hate to ask this because everyone is always so supportive but if anybody out there can help with a donation to Screaming Chicken it would be much appreciated, no matter how small.
In return we can offer free passes to future shows, our sincere gratitude and anything else we can figure out.
We'll probably also be doing some fund raisers in the near future so if anyone can help with that it would be great.
