Burlesque Aerobics with Melody ManglerEvery Sunday - Run every Sunday from 7-8pm. Shake your booty and laugh your ass off! Cardio combined with strength training using traditional burlesque props. Why use soup cans when you can use cute fans?<
Strip, Rip and Twirl
Sept. 8th, noon to 5pm - 'Strip, Rip and Twirl' is a 5 hour long workshop teaching the history, reason and technique of striptease and it's place in burlesque. Learn a routine and all the fancy moves to remove your everyday clothing! Class comes with a pair of pasties.
Becoming Burlesque
Registration Party Sept. 26th, First Class Oct. 3rd - A two month intensive workshop series that culminates in a final public performance. Classes are held every Wednesday from 6:30pm-9pm with the first half of class spent learning a skill and the second half applying that skill towards the building of the graduation show. Includes a hand tailored, fabulous burlesque outfit, pasties, glamour photos and bonus personal studio time.

The festival will take place from February 22nd to 24th at the Croatian Cultural Center. The Croatian is a great venue, centrally located and much bigger than last year’s venues. The festival will feature over 50 burlesque dancers and troupes from Vancouver and around the world as well as great bands, DJs, comedians, singers and variety performers and an assortment of workshops and a Burlesque Bazaar. The Taboo Revue Brrrlesque Variety Show is going back to its roots at Vancouver’s favorite punk rock venue – The Cobalt (917 Main St.). The show will feature a whole pile of performers both old and new. Lot’s of comedy, music, games and contests, variety and of course, girls, girls, girls. We’ll be keeping with the Cobalt’s cheap cover charge policy with tickets only five bucks at the door so come early and get a good spot. The full lineup will be announced shortly so stay tuned. |
